Haze, Low Clouds, Pollution?

I shouldn’t be so complacent about the good cool-season weather we are experiencing in Bangkok while my European and North American friends are freezing. This is the view from the apartment about 10am on Boxing Day morning.
Haze, Mist, Pollution?
I don’t know if it is just mist or pollution but it isn’t very attractive. The atmosphere feels heavier than it did a day ago.

Nevertheless I prefer this to freezing temperatures and snow.

It rained the afternoon for the first time for weeks. But only for about 30 minutes.

I prefer that to snow and ice, too.

Yes. As far as I am concerned snow should be voluntary. That’s why I liked living in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you want snow it’s a few hours drive away. Otherwise it never inconveniences you daily life.

At least in Canada you’re prepared for it. When I lived in England it was always a terrible shock and the country ground to a halt. It still happens: c.f. Eurostar last week.
