Malware Attacks Social Networks

Here’s another reason I won’t use social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Along with the fact they have severe privacy challenges, now there is malware that targets their users. I don’t have time for this!

    And again http://arstechnica.com/security/news/2009/12/if-you-use-social-network.ars

“If you use social network application site RockYou, you may want to change your passwords. The site’s user database was compromised by a hacker. What’s worse is that all of the passwords were stored in a plain-text database. Not good.”

MAY want to change? I’d cancel my account! Good I’d never heard of them.

Although I take all news stories with a large pinch of salt, if RockYou did store user passwords as plain text they do not deserve to be in business.
